Woman – What Is She Made Of?

by Karnik Gulati

Who is a woman? What is she made of? Why is always she who sacrifices for her family; her husband, her son, her daughter, her in-laws, etc.?

How does she manage to do all this?

Why is she the one who always eats dinner at last? Why she is the one who is always ready to eat the leftovers of her spouse or her children, or in general, of previous days? Why can’t we (men) do that?

Why is only she who cares about saving each penny of her husband or her children? Why is only she who shouts every time you leave a fan or light switched on when there is no one in the room?

Why is always she who irons our clothes? Why is always she who finds shoes, socks, etc. for us every time we are unable to find them. Can’t we help ourselves?

Why is she taken for granted? Is it men’s birth right to treat women in such way or does our Constitution deems it to be a fundamental right?

Why is she considered to be weak? What is it that makes us (men) feel that they cannot compete with us?Doesn’t she have self-respect?

Why is it always she who manages the household chores? Why is only she who is awake till late night waiting for her child to reach home safely? Why is she who is unable to sleep when her child is appearing in board exams for the very first time?

Ever wondered what she feels when her child says “whatever you are doing for me, it’s your duty”. Even if she is supposed to, doesn’t she deserve a little appreciation, if not every day, but on a regular basis?

Ever wondered what she goes through when her child or her spouse is suffering in pain (in whatever context it may be).

We (men) brag about being physically stronger than women, ever thought what makes a woman so strong that she manages all such things without complaining at all? Why even after getting a biased treatment, she is up again to serve us?

Answer to above questions can be summed up briefly: Because there can be no one like them. The role played by them in our lives, is, and, will always remain unparalleled, whether it’s played as a grandmother, mother, spouse, daughter, sister or a friend.

Let us see the different roles that a woman plays in our day to day lives.

WOMAN as a Grandmother:

a) Starts weaving a pullover when you are about to born or are just born.

b) Takes care of you especially when your Mom is not around.

c) Bringing together the entire family.

d) How can you forget those pre-bath oil massages when you were a child.

WOMAN as a Mother:

a) Your saviour when your father is scolding you.

b) A friend when you want to share your problems.

c) A custodian of all the money (sagan) you get from relatives.

WOMAN as a Spouse:

a) A person who knows you in and out.

b) A person with whom you can share anything.

WOMAN as a Daughter:

a) A person who is always close to Dad despite those little arguments over petty things.

b) A person who always pin-points your bad habits.

WOMAN as a Sister:

a) A treasurer to all your secrets.

b) A friend, when you like someone and she helps you in getting to talk to that someone.

WOMAN as a Friend:

a) A person who teases you to disclose all your secrets.

b) A person who always understands you better than anyone.

Hats off to the entire Women community for keeping the world as a whole, and our own too, so organised to live in. Even if you cannot appreciate her, at least do not trouble her in any sense.

Happy Women’s Day to every single woman in this world.

CHEERS!!!
KG. . .

P.S.: I wrote this straight from my heart, on my Facebook page, back in 2013. Just thought to share it over here.
